Q: What are your religious beliefs?
A: Articles of Faith:
Article I: God: I believe that the God of the Bible is the only one and true God; Triune in nature, manifested in three persons; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit—three distinct personalities, existing in perfect unity, with the same nature and character.
Article II: Jesus: I believe that Jesus is the Son of God and second person in the Godhead, existing with the Father before the earth was formed, willingly took upon Himself the form of man, being born of a virgin, lived a sinless life and willingly laid down His life and died a sinners death. And by His atoning work through His death, burial and resurrection has made salvation available for all mankind; not by any works of man that he should boast but only through His free gift of grace.
Article III: Holy Spirit: I believe Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead; while one in essence and nature of God, has a distinct personality and role in the Godhead; namely, to comfort, teach and guide us in our journey with God, while at the same time convicting the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. Every believer can be baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit, empowering each believer with spiritual gifts.
Article IV: The Church: I believe in the universal Church of believers that consists of local churches throughout the world which make up the Body of Christ of those who have made Christ their Lord and Savior and that there is only one head of the Church—the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe the Lordship of Jesus Christ is to be sought and preeminent in every area of our lives.
Article V: The Bible: I believe the Bible is the authoritative and inspired Word of God, inerrant to fact in the original documents. The Bible is the final authority on all matters of life, faith and practice and is reliable for reproving, correcting and instructing in the way of life .
Article VI: Salvation: I believe that all men have sinned and fall short of the glory of God and in need of salvation from their fallen state. I believe that God desires that no man should perish but have eternal life and that God lovingly offers salvation to every person who has the freedom to accept or reject this gift at any time. I believe faith (belief and trust) in Jesus and his sacrifice on the cross is the only way to receive salvation and become reconciled with God. I believe Salvation is an act of God’s grace through the work of the Holy Spirit in regenerating and converting the hearts of mankind.
Article VII: Judgment: I believe Jesus will return in bodily form to the earth. At the end of the age, Jesus will judge every person according to the decisions he or she has made during one’s life while on earth—some to everlasting life and some to eternal separation from God.
Article VIII: Prayer: I believe prayer is two-way communication between us and God; we speak, He listens and answers; He speaks, we listen and respond. I believe “The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much” (James 5:16, NASB)
I also believe in the power of declarative prayer—declaring those things the Holy Spirit has given you faith to believe to see come to pass. We also partner with the Holy Spirit in praying for the Father’s will to be released on the earth as it is already in heaven.
Article IX: Spiritual Authority in Healing: I believe the atoning work of Jesus on the Cross, paid the price—empowering believers through the Holy Spirit, to walk in a level of spiritual authority; enabling them to heal the sick, open blind eyes, and to demolish demonic strongholds—opening the prison doors and setting the captives free.
